The Irrigation Management Improvement Project (IMIP) supports the Government of Bangladesh in its efforts to sustain high (4.5 percent) agricultural growth. Key improvements include developing performance-based agricultural support services and rehabilitation and modernization of the irrigation infrastructure for 220,000 hectares. NHC prepared modernization strategies and completed feasibility studies, detailed engineering designs, and civil works bid documents for the project. Documentation was prepared to support project financing by the Asian Development Bank. The impact of the project will be sustained high growth in irrigated agriculture with public-private partnership for sustainable management, operation, and maintenance of the modernized schemes.
