Aquatic Habitat Design and Restoration, CFD and Numerical Modelling, Geomorphology and Geosciences, River Engineering, Floodplain and Sediment Management
I joined NHC in 2014 working with the numerical modelling team in Vancouver, BC as part of a PhD student exchange. Since 2015, I’ve been based in São Paulo (Brazil) and am glad to be able to work locally and internationally, including projects in Canada and Peru. Most of my work is related to numerical modelling of rivers supporting a variety of studies (dam breach assessments, riverbank protection, navigation, aquatic habitats, etc.) and sediment transport assessments integrating large- and small-scale perspectives to understand river processes and develop mitigation/restoration solutions. I manage NHC’s work related to Fundão tailings dam failure (Brazil), coordinating our Brazilian, Canadian, and American staff inputs to ensure high quality hydrotechnical support and peer review for river restoration works in this very challenging technical, social, and environmental situation. Outside of work, I enjoy being with my family, hiking, and travelling.
