The NHC community is deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague, friend, and leader - Brian Hughes – who tragically passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018.
Brian joined NHC in 1988 and over the course of the next 30 years had an enormous impact on this organization. Brian was widely respected by his peers and deeply admired by all of us who had the privilege of knowing him.
An endowment - Brian R. Hughes Graduate Award in Water Resource Engineering – is in the process of being established at the University of British Columbia to fund deserving graduate students who exemplify hard work, leadership, volunteerism, and academic aptitude in the field of water resource engineering.
Please contact Mr. Herb Wiebe, NHC Ltd. President via email for further details on the endowment and how contributions can be received.
